1999—William Christie-R

A—Ky—Light, smooth, flowing, tasteful

A—Ch—Patricia Petibon; tender, angelic, understated; voice has a slight edge

A—Gl—Vigorous, crisp, joyous

A—LT—Lynne Dawson; playful, flirty, flouncy tavern song; having fun with orchestra and listener; at m69, ad libs a turn, which the oboe winks right back (Bernius and Arman versions also do this)

A—Gr—Broad, severe, churchy

A—DD—S2 jumps right in with her dissent from her first entrance; good battle between “silver” and “golden” timbres

A—QT—Bouncy, swaying, no pain, no stagger

A—Qu—Bright, happy conversations; tenor gets a little lost in the background; S1’s highs are pure and without the edge present in her solos

A—JC—Same

A—CSS—Bright, crisp, assertive; trumpets miked up a bit too much; good climactic cadence

A—Cr—Vibrant, jolly; good orchestral presence, except chickens muted, even when they have no voices to compete with

A—Et—Patricia Petibon; shortest; sweet, tender love song; swaying, almost bouncy, definitely not dreamy; otherwise lovely voice still has that edge, especially on high notes

A—S—Shortest; joyful noise; breakneck pace works just fine, crisp entrances

A—H—Brisk, joyous, crisp

A—B—Upbeat, bright; singers all having a good time; tenor again is softest presence; detached strings at B
