1991—Philippe Herreweghe-?

Probably R

A—Ky—Unhurried, like a processional; restrained, churchy, a little lacking in energy

A—Ch—Christiane Oelze; Tender vocalise; light on vibrato; emotionally detached

B—Gl—Joyous, but smooth; lacks punch; melismas a little muddy

C—LT—Jennifer Larmore; Operatic, strident, almost angry; a little flat (musically, not emotionally); at least the orchestra is light and frothy

A—Gr—Churchy, broad, a little restrained

A—DD—Difference of opinion, but not a battle; missed opportunity for the two very differently timbred voices; this would have been a better place for S2 to start out sounding angry

A—QT—Respectfully slow enough to convey pain, staggering, indignation

A—Qu—Good voices singly & together; smooth, but able to have some fun conversing

A—JC—Same

A—CSS—More smooth than assertive, but gains energy as it goes; good melismas here; good climactic cadence

A—Cr—Bright, regal; gallops nicely; Chickens only at 2

A—Et—Christiane Oelze; tender, sweet, love song; very slight detachment and one awkward breath in cadenza keep it from being quite a clone of her singing on Rilling (1991)

A—S—Finally, all stops out; rafter-rattling, uplifting; good brass

A—H—Energetic, joyous; good crisp entrances

A—B—Finally, all four voices give in to the good times, conversing animatedly with each other; detached strings at B
