2001—Ivor Bolton-E

A—Ky—Smooth, flowing, hymnlike, brisk

A—Ch—Malin Hartelius; vocalise; kind of bouncy

A—Gl—Joyous, uplifting; good brass

A—LT—Stella Doufexis; tavern song; she and orchestra having fun; she ad libs a note in B section, but oboe doesn’t pick it up, as in Christie and Bernius; good voice, good delivery

A—Gr—Brisk, severe

A—DD—Good battle, using differently timbred voices well; brisk pace; intonation of orchestral even sounds ominous

A—QT—Brisk pace under 5 minutes, but enough stagger to avoid being dancelike; prominent brass helps with dignity

A—Qu—Energetic, animated, fun conversations; seemingly effortless high notes from sopranos

A—JC—Same

A—CSS—Shortest; crisp articulation of difficult melismas; good brass and timpani presence; good climactic cadence

A—Cr—Headlong, urgent; crisp voice entrances shouted out; almost hear chickens at 2, not 1 or 3

A—Et—Malin Hartelius; vocalise, as if a violin;

A—S—Dignified, churchy; brass could use a punch-up

A—H—Vigorous, upbeat; only movement where entrances a little muddy, for some reason

A—B—Wonderful voice blending and individual lines as well; good fun together; legato strings at B
